Runs By Itself
50 games 1/3
The core promise of this site gathers here: games that run without you. Every title in this section follows the same cycle, which is that you build something, close the tab, and return later to harvest what accumulated while you were gone. We only accept games that save progress correctly inside the browser, pay clear offline earnings when you return, and never punish absence with a shrinking balance. Games that demand your presence every single minute, wipe progress when the tab closes, or hide their income rates from view are refused without discussion. One idle stretch here means several hours: open it in the morning, leave it through the working day, come back in the evening to claim, upgrade, and let it run again.

All 50 games in this section run inside the tab: no install, no account, no download. Tap a title and the game opens on this same page.
- One tab, one game. Close the tab and the session is over.
- Finger controls or keyboard, depending on the title.
- Scores stay in this browser, so there is no account to maintain.

An older phone is enough
No download means no storage taken. Open the link, play, close it: the phone goes back to how it was, and the battery is not drained by a background process.
Terms in pressure-free idle games
Idle games use terms about time and space rather than about winning.
- Cycle
- One collection round; usually between eight and twenty seconds.
- Saturation
- When collection stops because space is full; the signal to merge.
- Merge
- Combining two identical items to go up one tier.
- Storage space
- Unused area; keeping one empty slot delays saturation.
- Passive yield
- Output that grows without tapping; it is what lets you leave.
In Runs By Itself, players who keep one empty slot delay saturation far longer.
Four terms that explain idle progress
Idle games are built from four numbers. Understanding them makes every upgrade decision obvious.
- Tick rate
- How often the game adds income while you watch. A slow tick makes the screen look frozen even when it is working.
- Offline rate
- The percentage of normal income earned while closed. Anything below half makes leaving the game pointless.
- Cost curve
- How much each upgrade costs compared with the last. Curves above 1.15 mean you are meant to wait.
- Prestige threshold
- The point where restarting gives more than continuing. Recognising it early is the whole strategy.
If progress feels stuck in Runs By Itself, check the cost curve before assuming the game is slow.
Questions players actually ask
I closed the tab, came back an hour later, and nothing had accumulated. Why?
Most titles here only count progress while the tab is open. Close the tab or let the phone sleep and that time is not counted. Leave the tab open in the background and keep the device from fully sleeping. It is a design limit rather than a bug.
Does progress run slower when the tab is in the background?
Yes, and nearly every browser does this to save battery. Most titles handle it by counting elapsed time rather than frames. If it feels slow, bring the tab forward for a few seconds to refresh the display.
How long before something meaningful happens?
Two to five minutes for the first cycle. If three minutes pass with no change, check whether you need to press something to start the cycle. Some titles require one tap before the loop runs on its own.
Do I need to check back every few minutes?
Not strictly, but it helps. Most titles cap stored resources at somewhere between two and eight hours. Leave it longer and the overflow is lost. Checking once an hour is the efficient habit.
Can I run two titles at once?
You can, but on a phone it usually slows both down. On a desktop, two tabs are still workable. For the best results, run one title at a time and leave that tab open.
Why do I still have to press things if it runs itself?
Because most titles require confirmation for upgrades. What runs automatically is resource gathering, not decision making. Every time an upgrade becomes available, you have to choose whether to buy it.
Is my time wasted if I close the phone?
For most titles here, yes. If you must close the phone, spend what you have first. Stored resources do not grow, so waiting achieves nothing.
Why did my income stop even though the tab is open?
Storage is probably full. Most titles stop producing at capacity, deliberately, so that you have to upgrade. Upgrade storage before speed if you keep hitting this ceiling.
Can I play this with sound off?
You can, and you probably should. Most titles here loop a short sound that becomes irritating after ten minutes. Mute it in the browser or in the title; progress continues regardless.
Are all the titles here free?
Yes, no payment and no account. What you get is advertising between sessions, and some titles offer a reward for watching an ad. You never have to watch one to progress, but it speeds up the opening minutes.
Player notes
I leave the tab open all day and come home to full resources. I did have to upgrade storage first, otherwise it stopped at a certain point.
Player note, keeps it open at work
I closed the tab and was annoyed that nothing accumulated. Once I left it open and stopped the screen from sleeping, progress ran. Not a broken game, a wrong habit.

Common questions
- Do I need an account to play?
- No. All 50 games in this section play without registration: no email, no password, no verification step.
- How long does one session take?
- Most titles finish in three to ten minutes, which fits a break without leaving anything half-done.
- Is my score saved?
- Your best score stays in this browser as long as site data is not cleared. No account also means no sync across devices.
